6 slices sourdough bread, crust removed and cubed

½ pound Velveeta cheese, cubed

3 large eggs, beaten

2 cups milk

½ teaspoon dry mustard

Pinch of salt

Pinch of pepper

10 slices bacon, cut into ½-inch pieces

Butter an 8-inch square baking dish. Layer the bread and cheese in the baking dish. In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, melted butter, dry mustard, salt, and pepper. Pour the mixture over the bread and cheese. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.

The next morning, preheat the oven to 350ºF. Sprinkle the bacon over the top. Bake uncovered for 1 hour. Serve while hot and gooey.
